My Elevator Pitch*

*(in one scroll)
I’m a researcher whose eyes, ears, and heart are sensitive to everyday social and behavioral patterns.
I unsurface the extraordinary in the ordinary to inform decisions in design and evaluation.

I aim to innovate products and systems that are embedded in human-centered design.
My training in applied anthropology and public health give me a “one-two punch,”
revealing cultural nuances and people's
unique perspectives
on health, technology, and services.

My Work Ethic

Picture

Methodical

I play with methods from the social sciences, public health and design. Mixed methodology is my dogma. Each step, whether quantitative or qualitative, has a strategic purpose that addresses the project’s goals. Are the metrics and findings relevant and utilizable? Will this inform a decision?
Picture

Reflexive

A good researcher knows when to immerse then distance oneself interchangeably in the field and with data. Reflection allows me to be aware of my biases when researching other people’s behaviors and attitudes. This awareness avoids stereotypes that mislead the client and disrespect users.
Picture

Systems-Minded

I seek "organic" patterns between people, objects, and larger yet sometimes hidden processes. I believe that everyday moments are reflections of embedded cultures. I holistically interpret the service ecosystem and touch points through the eyes of the user, the client, and stakeholders.

1. DISCOVER
special & ordinary moments in the field

2. EXPLORE
many variables & patterns as a team

3. LISTEN
to the people that inform the data
