eHealth + eEducation for Pre-K
Health Crisis:
Childhood obesity is a nationwide epidemic that has nearly tripled in the past three decades. Obesity is an health indicator for medical complications and financial burdens. Recent literature in health education has investigated the value of introducing health lessons as early as preschool to instill healthy habits. Resources, parent engagement, organizational readiness, and adequate professional training are potential factors that determine the sustainability and effectiveness of health education. Client: IT'S TIME TEXAS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides free, digital health resources and building partnerships across schools, local non-profits, and businesses. ITT hired me to holistically research their health education app, its new pre-K level lessons, and preschool systems. The project's goal was to identify usability and institutional barriers when implementing the app into the classroom. |
